Saddle Brook Tax Assessor

The Tax Assessor's Office is located in the Municipal Complex at 55 Mayhill Street.  The office is staffed Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM.  For the convenience of the public, the Assessor, Arthur Carlson Jr., is available by appointment, to discuss any matter related to tax assessments. Assistant, Patty Esteves is there Tuesdays and Thursdays to make appointments and to answer questions you may have.  You may reach the office by calling (201) 350-2110. Ext. 2922.

 The duties of the Township Assessor consist of preparing tax lists, and tax duplicate every year, defending valuations at the County level, meeting with the public to discuss assessments, placing new construction on the tax rolls, determining legitimacy of senior citizen and veteran exemption status and establishing sales ratio and equalization ratios with the County and State offices.

The Tax Assessor is required annually to assess real property at full value as of October 1st of the pretax year. When assessing properties for taxation, the Tax Assessor is performing a vital governmental function, and is acting as an agent of the State Legislature.

Taxes are due on the 1st of February, May, August and November (with a 10 day grace period)

Appraisal Systems

Appraisal Systems will be in Saddle Brook for the re-evaluation of some properties in Saddle Brook.

Residents should make sure they have proper identification before letting them into their homes.
