Athletics play an important part in the life of the township. Young people learn a great deal from participating in athletics. Lessons in sportsmanship, teamwork, competition and how to win or lose gracefully are integral parts of our athletic program. Athletic participation also plays an important part in helping children develop a healthy self-concept as well as a healthy body. Athletic competition also helps children develop pride in their town.

For the safety of our residents Lightning Warning Devices have been installed at numerous locations around town. If there is Lightning within 2.5 miles of any detector a 15 second blast of horns will sound. Our devices are equipped with a strobe light. The strobe will operate until the hazard has cleared the area. At that moment the “all clear” horns will sound. The “all clear” horns are three 5 second blasts. The strobe will turn off as well. The detectors will only sound from 8AM -10PM. Any questions please email SBREC@saddlebrooknj.gov.
