Celebrating 300 Years

In 2016, the Township will be celebrating its 300^th anniversary by hosting several memorable events. As we progress through 2016, please be sure to check this page, as well as our Facebook pages, Twitter and Saddle Brook CTV for updates and announcements regarding these special events. Celebrating our 300^th Anniversary we will not only look into the history of Saddle Brook and honor its evolution, but give it will give us an opportunity to create new memories with residents that can be cherished for years to come.

This is not the actual Time Capsule

As we wind down our 300th Anniversary celebrations, it is time to consider what we can leave behind for future generations to find. In that vein, we have decided to create and bury a Time Capsule in the soon-to-be-constructed Tri-Centennial Park on the corner of Platt Ave and Saddle River Rd.

This Capsule is a cylinder, 4 feet long and 12 inches in diameter and we are looking for suggestions and items to place in it. Items should be things that represent life in Saddle Brook in 2016. They should represent our culture, values, beliefs, and vision for the future. We have many of the basic items (i.e. newspapers, coins, movie stubs, books, etc.). We are looking for different ideas. If you have a suggestion or know of an item you feel should be included, please send an email to Christine Genuario at CGenuario@saddlebrooknj.gov . All ideas will be considered and we will let you know whether or not it will be added to the Time Capsule. So use your imagination and let’s make this a Time Capsule that will be legendary in 100 Years!
